We know winter can be tough enough without worrying about a boiler breakdown. John tried gas fires, electric heaters, and even wore extra jumpers and thermal vests to try and get warm when his boiler suddenly stopped working.
He couldn’t afford a new boiler, which would have cost him £2800, so he checked online to see if he could get help through the ECO (Energy Companies Obligation) scheme. He wasn’t sure whether he would qualify, but was thrilled to find that in fact he was eligible for a free boiler.
“Once I found the ECO scheme, well, that saved my bacon!”
An engineer and electrician fitted John’s new boiler in next to no time. Now he’s got a boiler that beats the cold, as well as helping him to save on his energy bills..
As part of the ECO scheme, npower helps people who need a bit of extra support when it comes to keeping their home warm and lowering their energy bills. Whether it’s replacing your old or broken boiler, or insulating the loft or cavity walls (if you have them) – you could save money and keep your home cosy throughout those cold winter months.
If you own your own home, or privately rent and receive certain income related benefits, you could qualify. Simply head over to the ECO scheme website to find out if you’re eligible. Or if you prefer, you can give us a call on 0800 0093 712 Monday – Friday, 8am – 8pm.
