A cleaner "greener" solution to your electricity requirements at no extra cost*.
At npower, we are always looking to help our business customers reduce their impact on the environment and to supply as much electricity as we can from ‘green’ sources. Green sources include true renewables, wind and hydro, but there are other clean and efficient types of generation available. Good Quality Combined Heat and Power, known as GQCHP, is one of these.
GQCHP is the simultaneous generation of electricity and useful heat from a single fuel source. In conventional generators the heat is wasted. GQCHP generators capture heat and use it again to provide steam or hot water to large buildings close by, saving them from burning more fossil fuel to produce the heat they require. By not burning this extra fossil fuel, GQCHP significantly reduces Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions into the atmosphere and is therefore more environmentally friendly.
If the electricity you consume is generated from ‘green’ GQCHP sources, current legislation provides for HM Revenue & Customs to declare it exempt from the Government’s Climate Change Levy (CCL). On the electricity bills, CCL is then replaced by a climate change equivalent charge.

* Applies when all electricity used is subject to full CCL charge.
