Steps to switch
Simple steps to becoming an npower customer.
You enter into a gas and/or electricity contract.
Within 7-10 days.
We will send you a copy of your contract containing the details you have provided online, along with our Terms and Conditions. We may also call you to check you are happy to switch to npower. Remember, you do not need to contact your current supplier to tell them that you are switching to npower, as we will do this for you.
Within a further 25 days.
We will write to confirm your start date with us and ask you to send us a meter reading. (We will tell you at that time how to do this.) This reading will be sent to your existing supplier enabling them to send you your final bill. They may try to persuade you to stay with them - please call us first on 0845 601 1102 if you have any concerns about switching to npower. Please don't stop your payments to your current supplier until you have paid their final bill - they can object to your transfer to npower if you owe them money.
Within a further 11 days.
You'll start to receive your energy supply from npower and should receive your first bill within 3 months.
