Since the launch of Juice, our green energy tariff, in 2001 we’ve raised more than £2 million for the Juice fund which has helped to support renewable energy projects all over the country.
To celebrate we’re offering all new npower customers who switch to npower Juice for their electricity and our standard tariff for gas, with a one off £100 Green Energy Bonus which will be paid in 2011.

What is Juice?
npower Juice is electricity that comes from 100% renewable sources. It costs the same as our standard electricity, so there’s no extra cost to you.
Juice has also recently been certified in line with OFGEM’s Green Supply Guidelines, as a tariff with genuine environmental benefits, so you can relax, knowing you’re helping to do your bit for the environment by being an npower Juice Customer.
In addition, for every customer that takes Juice, npower makes a contribution of £10 every year into the Juice Fund. The fund is then used to support community based renewable generation projects which provide a real environmental benefit. So if green is your thing, why not get a quote now for npower Juice.
How does it work?
npower matches every unit of normal electricity that you use and feeds the same amount, generated from renewable sources, back into the electricity network.
This tariff is available on a variety of flexible payment methods including Direct Debit, regular payment schemes, cash, cheque or pay as you go if you have a prepayment meter.
£100 Direct Debit Discount
If you pay for your electricity and gas with npower by Direct Debit you could enjoy our £100 Direct Debit discount at the end of 12 months, you’ll see your discount on your first statement after this date.
How do we source our fuels?
At npower we produce and source electricity for all our customer needs. As part of our supply commitment, OFGEM, our regulatory body requires us to provide details of where the fuel comes from that is used to make our electricity.
The table below applies to npower customers, supplied under the following Electricity Supply Licenses: Npower Limited, Npower Northern Ltd, Npower Yorkshire Ltd, Npower Direct Limited and Electricity Plus Supply Limited
Between April 2008 and March 2009 the electricity npower supplied was from the following fuel sources.

The weighted average of Carbon Dioxide emitted in the production of electricity from each fuel source was: 543g/kWh. This figure has been calculated on the basis of information provided from the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
Radioactive waste, being fuel burnt in the reactor from nuclear fuels to be subsequently discharged as spent fuel is 0.001g/kWh

Terms & conditions for our standard tariff
Direct Debit discount: After you’ve been with npower and paid by monthly Direct Debit without a break for 12 months you’ll be entitled to a discount off your energy bill. Stay with us and continue to pay in this way and you’ll get a £100 annual discount if you buy both electricity and gas, £50 if you buy just gas or £40 if you buy just electricity. Dual fuel customers must pay for both supplies in one combined monthly payment and accept a combined dual fuel statement. Your discount will be credited to your account after 12 months and after each year you continue to pay this way. Monthly payments will be based on your current credit or debit balance and estimated future consumption at prices current at that time. Subject to change.
Juice: 100% renewable energy at no extra cost to you. npower matches every unit of normal electricity you use and feeds the same amount, generated from renewable sources, back into the electricity network. We estimate your Juice consumption regularly, which helps us make sure that, at the end of the year we’ve provided enough clean, renewable energy to cover what you’ve used. Simple. In addition, for every Juice customer we have, npower contributes a donation of£10/person to the Juice Fund for every year our customers continue to use Juice. The Juice fund is then used to support community based renewable generation projects, which provide a real environmental benefit.
Green Energy Bonus: is available on contracts signed between 23/08/10 and 30/09/10 - £100 paid on 1st bill after 01/08/11. Offer is limited, subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. Green Energy Bonus is not available to customers on online, Fixed or other non –standard tariffs. Green Energy Bonus offer is a one-off discount of £100 to new Juice customers who switch to the Juice Tariff for their electricity and switch their gas to our Standard Gas Tariff. We call this the 'Energy Bonus Discount' and this is how it will appear on your bill. Provided you meet all of the requirements of the Green Energy Bonus offer, you will become entitled to the Green Energy Bonus discount on the first anniversary of the date on which supply of your second fuel by us started and it will be credited to your electricity accounts on the 1st bill after 01/08/11. If you are a prepayment customer your discount will be paid via redemption of a letter at Post Offices nationally. You’ll be paid your discount after 01/08/2011. If we make any credit to either or both account(s) before then for billing or other purposes and this Green Energy Bonus Agreement ends, you must repay the value of such credit. During your first year with us (your Green Energy Bonus Period), the Green Energy Bonus discount and the annual Direct Debit dual fuel discount, are included in the agreed monthly direct debit payments to be made by you. If for any reason during your Green Energy Bonus Period, the Green Energy Bonus offer no longer applies to you, your monthly Direct Debit payments may no longer be appropriate to meet your estimated consumption during the Green Energy Bonus Period.
