More and more of our customers are paying for their gas and electricity with our Budget Scheme. The scheme allows you to spread the cost of your bills evenly throughout the year, so you won't get a large one during the winter.

You can pay every month by:

  • Direct Debit
  • Cash (also payable weekly)

If you don't have a bank account, you can pay with cash every month or every week by using a plastic payment card. You can use this card to pay at local Payzone convenience stores and post offices.

How the Budget Scheme works

We will tell you how much we think you should pay and the date of your first payment. Let us know if you don't agree with the amount so we can agree a new amount with you.

We will send you a bill for information. Each time we produce a bill, we will check to make sure you're paying enough to cover the gas and electricity you will use in future. Once a year we will send you a settlement bill. This will show if your payments have covered the amount of electricity you have used through the year.

If your payments haven't covered all the electricity charges on your settlement bill, you can pay off the extra amount or spread your payments across the next 12 months. If you have paid more than the charges on your settlement bill, your bill will show a credit which you can ask us to refund or take off your next year's payments. We will refund any large amount to you automatically.

If you move, we can transfer your monthly Budget Scheme payments to your new address.
