Welcome to the RWE UK Corporate Responsibility Report 2013

As one of the major energy businesses in the UK, we recognise that the successful energy company of the future has sustainability as its foundation. In order to have an open dialogue about the challenges faced, we have produced our eleventh full Corporate Responsibility (CR) report, covering the period January-December 2013. We have structured our report on the issues that are important to our stakeholders as well as to our business.

Our CR report covers the activities of RWE Group companies operating in the UK, principally npower, which provides gas and electricity to homes and businesses, RWE Generation UK, which operates a highly efficient and flexible portfolio of conventional power stations, and RWE Innogy UK, which is a leader in the development, construction and operation of renewable generation. We do not cover the trading operations of RWE Supply and Trading or the activities of RWE Dea.

We commissioned DNV GL Business Assurance Services UK Limited to undertake independent assurance of our 2013 Corporate Responsibility Report – the assurance procedure was conducted in accordance with AA1000AS (2008). This thorough process enables us to demonstrate that our report is accurate and reliable.

We have designed our CR report in website format which enables us to provide comprehensive and accessible information. All the report data can be found on the additional information section.

Thank you for taking the time to read our Corporate Responsibility report – we welcome any feedback about the report at csr.feedback@rwenpower.com.
