We are one of the leading energy suppliers to the UK business market, serving over 230,000 small to medium-sized enterprises and 15,000 industrial and commercial companies with over 100,000 sites. Our goal is to be the leading energy and environmental solutions company for UK businesses.

We have a responsibility to do more than simply supply energy. Over a third of the UK’s CO₂ emissions come from businesses and the public sector. We’re in a position to help change that.

We help our customers develop a better understanding of the energy they use. And we help them see both the environmental and business benefits of being more sustainable.

Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC)

The government’s CRC scheme is a mandatory emissions trading scheme for large, non- energy-intensive commercial and public sector organisations that use more than 6,000 MWh a year. That could cover as many as 5,000 organisations, including large offices, banks, major retailers, transport operators and manufacturers.

They’ll all be expected to self-certify their own energy use and submit their meter readings or annual energy bills online. The full CRC scheme doesn’t start until 2010, but energy readings from 2008 will still be used as a baseline to measure progress.
