To prove the investments are making a genuine environmental difference we have got a big tick from Ofgem – the industry regulator – to prove National Trust Green Energy is an independently certified Green Tariff in line with the Green Supply Guidelines.
In partnership with npower, donations to The National Trust have recently supported one of the UK’s largest installations of photo-voltaic (PV) cells on National Trust’s historic carriage museum at Arlington Court near Barnstaple in Devon.
The 113 m2 installation will generate up to 6.3 megawatt hours (mWh) of energy each year, saving the museum about £600 from its electricity bill and generating income of around £2,270 per year by feeding energy back into the grid.
The installation will also help protect the historic carriages in the museum, which includes carriages used by royalty, with the cells helping to reduce the amount of ultraviolet light that enters the building.
Electricity 100% matched from renewable sources: The electricity you receive remains the same. Usage is estimated until year end when annual consumption data is checked and we confirm the correct amount of renewable energy has been purchased and fed back into the network. Based on npower's standard tariff. Non-standard tariff customers will be required to move to standard tariff which may be higher than your current tariff.
£15 donation to the National Trust Green Energy Fund: Initial payment of £15 per fuel invested in low carbon initiatives for customers entering into a residential contract with npower for National Trust Green Energy electricity, once supply by npower has commenced. £15 per National Trust Green Energy customer and £5 per npower gas customer invested in low carbon initiatives at National Trust properties will be payable every year a customer stays with National Trust Green Energy for the duration of the National Trust and npower alliance.
Your annual discount: If you pay by Direct Debit continuously for 12 months (either by making monthly payments or by settling your quarterly bill in full by variable Direct Debit) we’ll give you a discount off your bill (£100 if you buy both electricity and gas, £50 if you buy just gas or £40 if you buy just electricity). Your discount will be credited to your account on or before the last day of the 12th month after becoming eligible and then on or before the same last day ofeach year you continue to pay this way. Dual fuel customers must pay for both fuels in one combined payment and accept a combined dual fuel bill or statement to receive a Dual Fuel discount. Certain tariffs are excluded. Subject to change.
Where customers pay by monthly Direct Debit: With National Trust Green Energy your monthly Direct Debit payments will be calculated to include the annual Direct Debit discount, on the assumption you will meet the conditions of those discounts set out on this page.
If for any reason you do not meet the conditions you will not receive the Direct Debit discount and your monthly payments may not be sufficient to meet your estimated consumption. As a result you may have a debit balance to pay.
