If you are a generator of renewable power, you are likely to qualify to receive Renewable Obligation Certificates, or ROCs, which you can then sell to a licensed energy supplier.
As a leading UK energy supplier, npower actively seeks market opportunities to support continued investment in renewables, and has a high demand for ROCs. This means we can offer you an attractive range of relevant products and incentives.
The Renewables Obligation (RO) was introduced in 2002, and is an obligation on licensed energy suppliers to deliver an increasing amount of their total energy supply portfolio from renewable sources. The government’s aim is to have 15% of all energy supplied from renewable sources by 2020, and to cut CO2 emissions by as much as 80% by 2050
Since the market remains relatively volatile, many generators have turned towards market related products, rather than fixed price arrangements, to obtain the best value for each ROC generated.
For a small management fee you have the benefit of receiving the full Buy-Out Price for each ROC delivered (as they are delivered), and in addition, the full Recycle Value per ROC when it becomes available in October/November each year.
A straightforward fixed price for a year or a particular ‘RO Compliance Period’, with a guaranteed price for each ROC delivered to us.
