Embedded Generators are companies that generate electricity directly to the distribution network.
These may be companies that generate energy as their primary business, such as wind farms or large-scale biomass producers. Alternatively a company may generate energy as a by-product of other business activities. For instance, water utility companies may generate renewable energy from hydro for their own use and then sell the surplus back onto the grid.
Today, in a response to government incentives, many Embedded Generators produce renewable energy. Some however, continue to undertake generation activities using fossil fuels.
npower offers a range of products to support the varying requirements of Embedded Generators, renewable or otherwise, offering effective access to the UK Energy Market.
We work with companies that have generation capacity of 50kW to 100MW, supporting them with the sale of their energy, ROCs and LECs by providing access to the UK energy market.
