Terms and Conditions
1. By entering the prize draw all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material as if they were set out in these terms and conditions.
2. The prize draw is limited to schools that teach 4-7 year olds in England, Scotland and Wales. . Only one entry per school is allowed. Only one prize is available per winning school No purchase is required for entry.
3. To enter the prize draw, the headteacher from the school wishing to enter must: - visit www.npower.com/littlegreenfingers - Complete the entry form - Save the entry form - Email the completed entry form to: climatecops.@npower.com by midnight on Friday 13 March 2009. Or, if problems occur when completing/saving the entry form, please post it to: Climate Cops – Little Green Fingers npower Trigonos Windmill Hill Business Park White Hill Way Swindon SN5 6PB Entries need to be received by midnight on Friday 13 March 2009. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
4. The closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 13 March 2009.
5. There are 50 prizes each consisting of: • An 8’ x 12’ Hercules II Greenhouse • A renewable greenhouse heating system • A set of six children’s gardening tools, watering cans and aprons.
6. It is the sole responsibility of the winning schools to erect the greenhouse and the greenhouse heating system. Thewinners will be required to obtain any necessary consents and approvals (such as, but not limited to, consent from any local authority to erect the greenhouse on the school’s site, planning permission and satisfaction of any health and safety requirements etc) that may be required. Additional costs and expenses associated with the erection of the greenhouse, the greenhouse heating system, a concrete base for the greenhouse and any consents and approvals required is not included in the prize.
7. It is the sole responsibility of the winning schools to insure the greenhouse.
8. The winners will be the first 50 entries drawn randomly by an independent person on Wednesday 16 March 2009. All entries received by the closing date and which comply with these terms and conditions will be divided into eleven regions (as specified on the entry form) and a set number of winners will be drawn at random from each of these regions by an independent person. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
9. The winners will be notified using the details supplied on the entry form within 14 days of the draw date. If the prize is unclaimed after reasonable efforts have been made by the Promoter to contact any of the winners then another entry will be randomly picked until a winner is found, failing which the Promoter will be entitled to dispose of the prize as it thinks fit, without any liability to any party for doing so.
10. The names of the winners can be obtained by sending an SAE marked "Climate Cops Little Green Fingers Prize Draw” to npower, PO Box130, Worcester WR4 9ZX after Monday 6 April 2009.
11. The greenhouse is supplied by The Greenhouse People Ltd (www.greenhousepeople.co.uk). The delivery of the greenhouse will be arranged and delivered by The Greenhouse People on the Promoter’s behalf before Friday 10 April 2009 on a date to be mutually agreed by the winner and The Greenhouse People.
12. Entries that are not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions, or are illegible, incomplete, altered,lost or delayed, will be disqualified. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entry must be by the means specifiedabove. Bulk and third party entries will not be accepted.
13. There is no cash alternative to the prize and the prize is non-transferable.
14. In the event of circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to alter the timings or format of the prize or offer an equivalent prize of equal or greater value.
15. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or injury arising from the prize, save where such loss or injury is caused by the Promoter’s own negligence or that of its employees. The participants acknowledge that the greenhouse heating system is being provided purely for experimental purposes and the Promoter does not make any claims, promises or representations for the efficiency or effectiveness of the system.
16. The entry form asks the headteacher to state in no more than 200 words what difference this prize will make to their school and pupils. The Promoter retains the right to use these statements for public relations purposes without obtaining further consent from the schools.
17. The winners may be asked to be available for and to participate in, any public relations and publicity arranged by the Promoter. Where necessary the Promoter will require parental consent to be obtained prior to any such publicity taking place.
18. The winners may be asked to provide updates on their progress with erecting the greenhouse and growing plants and vegetables at various times throughout the year.
