Smart meter Data Policy
Smart meters are designed to help you – and us – use energy as efficiently as possible. The more often we can collect your Smart meter data, the easier it will be for us to help you control how much energy you use.
How we will use Smart meter data
Unless you tell us you want to opt out, we’ll take a meter reading every day. This means we can send you a bill based on an actual reading and not an estimate. And it will save you the hassle of reading your own meter*. You’ll be given a choice about how often your energy data is taken and how it’s used.
For more information, take a look at our leaflet:
*You’ll only receive an estimated bill if there’s a problem collecting a reading and the only time we should need to visit is for a routine safety check every couple of years.
