Putting our energy into fundraising
npower has a workforce with a passion for charity and we are proud to support all their fundraising efforts pound for pound. In 2012, we matched the fundraising efforts of almost 400 employees to the value of £217,789.
Since 2004, Macmillan Cancer Support has been our corporate charity partner and the partnership is now valued at a staggering £6 million. Not only do we support their flagship fundraising event, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, but our employees also raise valuable funds to help people affected by cancer by taking part in a whole host of Team Macmillan events, such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
In 2007 we created the Fuel Management Programme to directly benefit and help people living with cancer manage their fuel bills more effectively. The programme provides help for npower customers living with cancer with the cost of fuel and outstanding energy debts, and is part of our wider Spreading Warmth Programme. To date, we have over 1,300 customers on the programme.
Macmillan Tree of Light
We would like to thank everyone who supported the Macmillan Tree of Light. Thousands of people across the UK dedicated a Christmas bauble to someone affected by cancer and helped us decorate The Tree of Light - an enormous, ten metre Christmas Tree, donated by npower, right in the middle of London’s Covent Garden.
Personal messages of love, hope or remembrance were written on a Christmas bauble which was then hung on The Tree of Light.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides those affected by cancer with practical, emotional and financial support. Your support and donations means Macmillan can continue to provide their vital services to people living with cancer and their families, so no one has to face cancer alone.
