The top 10 schools win a week’s residential Green Outward Bound® course run by The Outward Bound Trust at their Ullswater centre in the Lake District, from Monday 19 to Friday 23 November 2012. They will be joined by Ray Mears, who will inspire them to carry on the good work and do even more to save the environment!

It will be tough but rewarding, encouraging young people to push themselves and achieve things they never thought possible. All teachers and Climate Cops SOS team members who complete the course will receive the Stage 1 John Muir Award (an environmental award focused on wild places).

One teacher from each school must attend the course with their team, but two teachers are welcome.

Terms and conditions apply and are available here.

The Outward Bound Trust

The natural environment is at the heart of everything we do at The Outward Bound Trust. From our centres, located in Britain’s most stunning landscapes, we take you on a journey – one that will push your boundaries in so many ways. The skills you develop at Outward Bound® are vital to life, success, personal development and of course your environment. We get you outside, we get you active and we get you thinking.

Our 5-day Green Course is something new and unique - a chance to explore the wild outdoors with your team, live with minimum environmental impact and build your knowledge of environmental issues at the same time. You’ll learn about energy resources, discuss global warming and take part in adventurous outdoor activity, including an overnight expedition in the Lake District.

We look forward to welcoming the winners of the 2012 Climate Cops SOS competition to the Trust’s Ullswater centre in November 2012.
