npower can provide home, business and public charging points, which we call 'juice points' to keep you fully charged and on the road. Charging from home will be simple and easy to do.
If you're out travelling though and need to top up, don't worry there'll be lots of ways you can keep moving. From internet sites and apps that will locate your nearest charging post to smart ways to start charging, here's a few of the ways you'll be able to charge your car whilst you're away from home.
Charging whilst you're out
Plug and Charge automatic authentication
Plug in and charge at a juice-point. Connect your car's unique charging cable into a juice point and to your car. The juice point will recognise your car from the cable's unique details and authorise charging to begin. Ideal for business and fleet use.
Telephone authentication
If you're a member of a public charging point scheme, you'll be able to authorise your account by telephone as one of the ways to charge your car. Some public charge schemes use remote authentication, providing users with membership cards to swipe and charge. Find out more in your borough by visiting your local council website.
Smart phone authentication
If you're a member of a public charging point scheme you could choose to begin charging your car via your smartphone. You'll need to download an app from your membership provider to be able to do this. Find out more on local schemes and ways to charge and pay by visiting your local council website.

Its easy to charge your car at home, using an npower juice point. Unlock your charger and plug in your charging cable. Lock your car to begin the charging process. The typical charging period is between 6 and 8 hours to recharge from empty, less for a top up. If you re-charge at night using juice-e, you'll be ready to go in the morning, and at a fraction of the cost of standard fuels.
The electricity you use to charge your car can be billed as part of your npower home energy bill. You can choose to pay quarterly, online or by direct debit. It couldn't be simpler.

The wall box can be used for small business or home use. Main features include:

The smart wall box is generally for use in car parks, offices, shopping centres and anywhere off-road you plan to park for a short while. The smart box has the same functionality as the wall box but with additional features:
- Can be used for fleets, reducing carbon emissions
- Up to 6 times faster than a domestic socket - average charge time 1 hour.*
- Itemised billing function, listing charging activity
- Authentication facility for charging
- Can be individually branded

The smart station is generally used for public or company on-road charging and in car parks. It contains all the features of the smart box, with the following additions:
