Disabled adaptations
Working in this sensitive area, our specialised team undertakes each individual disabled adaptation as a complete project.
We manage each project from the design and build stage through electrics, plumbing, decoration, glazed tiling and floor laying, with tenant liaison from start to finish. All trades are from SPI direct labour force.
This comprehensive service serves to reduce the duration of the adaptation and the impact on the tenant, as their needs are often greater than the average able-bodied person..
Scope of works
As part of the adaptation work we will undertake:
- Isolating and removing old bathroom suite and/or kitchen fitments
- Structural alterations to doorways, floors and walls for new equipment and wheelchair access
- Relocation of underground drains and soil pipes
- Rewiring for new shower position, cooker, altered light switches etc.
- Installation of new equipment
- Tiling to suit
- Alteration to heating system
- Decoration upon completion
- Maintaining services to residents while work is in progress
- Disposal of all rubbish to licensed waste sites
