With Secondary Metering you could achieve highly targeted energy efficiency improvements to your business by monitoring the specific consumption of individual premises, production areas, departments or even machines.
Being able to understand the patterns of consumption for specified activities and equipment in this way allows you to identify the least energy efficient areas of the business, upon which your development programmes can focus.
Secondary Metering involves the installation of additional meters downstream from your main meter, for recording electricity usage in specific business areas. The data from each meter is then retrieved by npower over a communications link and presented back to you via our monitoring and targeting software encompass.
Encompass provides easy-to-understand graphs and tables to help you monitor consumption and carbon usage across your entire utility portfolio in one place, making it easier to identify waste and savings, and to help you meet the requirements of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
Getting Secondary Metering is straightforward. A pre-installation site survey is carried out by an experienced metering expert, who helps you identify suitable business areas for consumption measurement. The metering equipment is then installed and configured, and as the data is collected automatically, you won’t even need to read the meters.
