As of April government have implemented changes to Feed in Tariffs that will provide a greater emphasis on energy efficiency and more opportunities for homeowners to benefit from the scheme.
They key change for customers installing Solar PV on or after the 1st April 2012 is your property will need to meet a minimum energy efficiency standard. This will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) being produced that shows a rating of "D" or above.
A consultation has also been released which proposes further reductions to the FIT rate. The public consultation runs until the 3rd April 2012 and would be implemented from the 1st July 2012.
As of the 1st of April we’re offering an EPC free of charge to anyone who installs a domestic PV system with npower Solar. Even at 21p, Solar PV can still offer great returns and with a free EPC you can set a path to reducing your fuel bills and your carbon footprint for years to come.
FIT rewards homeowners by paying them a tariff for the energy they generate. With falling PV prices and generous FIT rates, now is a fantastic time to consider Solar PV for your home.
We have teamed up with our fully accredited installer Ecofirst who can design a Solar PV system that suits your property and suits your needs.
To be eligible for an installation your must own your own home, be located in England or Wales and have a mains electricity supply.
