Mechanical digital meter

How to read a mechanical digital meter

A digital meter can be single or two rate (electricity meters only).

A single rate meter has one row of figures.

A two-rate meter (e.g. Economy 7) has two rows of figures. One row is usually labelled 'normal' or 'day' and the other is labelled 'low' or 'night'. Always take both readings. When submitting the meter read on npower.com the 'normal' or 'day' reading is entered under 'meter reading' and the 'low' or 'night' reading is entered under 'nightly meter reading'.

Note down the numbers as they read from left to right. Ignore the last red number.
