A new power generation

In November 2003 the North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm started generating Juice electricity, npower's pioneering and non-premium energy product.

North Hoyle is currently the main source of Juice and can supply enough electricity to meet the needs of up to 40,000 homes* every year.

With the launch of the UK’s first major offshore wind farm – North Hoyle – we have now begun to harness the country's vast potential for offshore wind power.

By switching to Juice you can demonstrate your back for the development of offshore wind power. We believe that the demonstration of support from current Juice customers helped speed up the North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm through the planning process.

Developed by npower renewables (formerly National Wind Power), npower’s sister company, the North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm comprises 30 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 60 megawatts (MW). It is a landmark development and heralds the dawn of a new major offshore wind power industry in the UK.

* Based on 40,000 Juice customers with an estimated average usage of 4,700 units (kWh) of electricity per home per year.
