How can I find out if my home is suitable?
If you are interested in the npower solar PV scheme, call 0800 316 1491*. Our helpful, knowledgeable team will be able to provide you with more information, talking you through the steps of the process. We'll also ask you to complete a simple suitability questionnaire on the phone. The questionnaire shouldn’t take more than five minutes to answer and the questions that we will ask you are based on the following areas:
- Is your contact address the same address as the property you wish to install the solar PV panels?
- Is the installation property a residential address?
- Do you have the authority to install solar PV panels (e.g. do you own the property)?
- Does the property have mains connected electricity?
- Is the property listed?
- Is the property situated within a conservation area?
- What is the approximate direction of the roof slope onto which you are considering placing solar PV panels?
- Is the roof space sufficient to accommodate solar PV panels (minimum area required is usually 10m2)?
- Are there are roof space obstacles that may restrict sunlight from being cast on the surface of the solar PV panels e.g. chimney, skylight etc?
- Are there any objects that could cast shadows on the roof space at certain times of the day (e.g. trees, other buildings etc)?
